Our Mission

We facilitate a seamless transition into high school, establishing a robust academic foundation for students to become confident, self-directed, college and career-ready problem-solvers. Our academy cultivates a secure environment, ignites a passion for learning, and fosters critical thinking, strong literacy, and academic proficiency. We empower all students to inquire, imagine, create, contribute, and excel, thereby preparing them for future academic and professional success.

Our Core Beliefs

High Standards
We establish clear academic and responsibility expectations, positioning every student for success in high school and their chosen career path.

Early MTSS Support
Our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) enables the early identification and intervention for students, ensuring they remain on track by successfully completing at least four core subjects plus one additional course. We customize support for diverse learning styles, addressing foundational skill gaps to build essential competencies.

The Five Rs
We cultivate readiness, resilience, respect, relationships, and responsibility. These fundamental values foster a supportive community and thoroughly prepare students for higher education and professional life.

Respect & Identity
Our culture of mutual respect supports students in developing confidence and a strong personal identity. We embrace all learning styles and individual differences, strengthening students for high school and their diverse futures.

Our Goal

The Benjamin Franklin 9th Grade Academy serves as the pivotal institution where first-year students build a comprehensive foundation for successful progression to tenth grade, high school graduation, and thorough preparation for life beyond high school, whether pursuing higher education, vocational training, or a professional career. Our students will emerge as capable, adaptable individuals prepared for any path they choose.
